Bonner Springs announces public information session for sales tax ballot question

The city of Bonner Springs has scheduled a public meeting to provide information about the November ballot question to renew a quarter-cent emergency services sales tax.
The meeting is set for 6 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 24, at the Community Room in the Bonner Springs City Library. Mayor Clausie Smith and city staff members will provide information about how the city has used the current sales tax as well as possible future uses and comparative information about use of property taxes instead of the sales tax to purchase emergency equipment. A question and answer period will follow the presentation.
Smith will be available to meet with residents for his monthly forum immediately following the public information session. For more information, contact the city at 913-422-1020.
