Power outage affects area around Kansas Avenue and K-7
Residents and businesses in the area of Kansas Avenue and Kansas Highway 7 reported a brief power outage about 4 p.m. Monday afternoon.
The outage affected the traffic signals at the major intersection as well as the entry/exit ramps for Interstate 70 and the intersection of 130th Street, Bonner Springs police reported. Police responded to the area to help direct traffic.
A representative for Westar Energy said the cause of outage, which lasted about 20 minutes, was a breaker that failed. In addition to the traffic signals, she said the outage affected about 1,200 customers.
