Class 4A regional baseball, softball brackets unveiled
The road to state begins Monday and now area baseball and softball teams have a clearer picture of who they’ll need to play to get there.
The Kansas State High School Activities Association released regional brackets for Class 4A baseball and softball on Wednesday.
Basehor-Linwood and Bonner Springs will compete in the Eudora regional, which begins Monday. The Bobcats (13-5) received the bracket’s No. 2 seed and will open against No. 7 Bishop Ward (0-12) at 2 p.m. Monday. The winner will meet the winner of No. 3 Tonganoxie (10-6) and No. 6 Bonner Springs (4-11) — scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Monday — in a semifinal game at 3 p.m. Tuesday. The bracket’s championship game is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.
The Bonner Springs baseball team (2-17) received the No. 9 seed and will meet No. 8 Eudora (5-11) in a play-in game at 2 p.m. Monday at Spring Hill. The winner will then play No. 1 Spring Hill (14-4) at 7 p.m. Monday.
No. 6 Basehor-Linwood (6-7) will open against No. 3 De Soto at 3 p.m. Monday in Baldwin. The winner will play the winner of No. 2 Sumner Academy (10-4) and No. 7 Baldwin (6-9) in a 4:30 p.m. Wednesday semifinal. The finals of the regional tournament will follow at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
