Bonner library participates in World Book Night tonight

April 23, 2014

The Bonner Springs City Library is participating in World Book Night this evening.

Now in its third year, the nationwide event has prompted about 25,000 people to hand out books all over the United States. It was created as an annual celebration dedicated to spreading the love of reading, person to person, on April 23, William Shakespeare’s birthday.

Kim Beets, library director, and Lesley Lard, youth and teen librarian, will begin handing out books on Oak Street in Downtown Bonner Springs at 6 p.m. They will offer The Weird Sisters by Eleanor Brown, Presumed Innocent by Scott Turow.
