Chiefs name Aslin Kansas Coach of the Week

October 9, 2014

On Thursday, the Kansas City Chiefs named Bonner Springs High football coach Lucas Aslin Kansas Coach of the Week.

Aslin and the Braves defeated Piper 34-27 in overtime last week.

As a result of the honor, the Braves will be visited by Chiefs Hall of Famer and Director of Special Events Gary Spany, who will deliver a $500 grant toward player health and safety equipment and/or education. Aslin will also receive a congratulatory football signed by Chiefs head coach Andy Reid.

Aslin received the honor last year after Bonner Springs topped Piper 42-6 at home. He is now a finalist for Kansas's Chiefs High School Coach of the Year Award, which will be announced at the end of the football season.
