Bonner Springs wrestlers take fifth in Kaw Valley
Tonganoxie The Bonner Springs wrestling team came away with a fifth-place finish at the Kaw Valley League championships on Saturday at Tonganoxie High School.
The Braves posted a total score of 117, preceded by champion Mill Valley (209), Lansing (200), Basehor-Linwood (153) and Turner (146). Bishop Ward (72), Tonganoxie (72) and Piper (23) rounded out the field.
Tanner Hitchcock (113 pounds, 27-4 record), Collin Wallar (120, 21-7), D.J. Ballard (126, 22-5), Sean Singleton (195, 18-16) and Bryan Lanning (160, 27-10) led the way for the Braves with second-place finishes in their respective weight divisions.
Kolbe Seaton took third place at 132 pounds, and has a season record of 25-8. Gage Herron and Adam McClure captured fourth-place finishes at 145 and 220 pounds, respectively, and have season records of 21-7 and 6-13.
