Edwardsville council to meet in special workshop
Prior to its regular meeting Monday, the Edwardsville City Council will have a work session to discuss details regarding a potential sewer project that would serve the northern portion of the city.
The council discussed the topic at its Oct. 26 meeting, reviewing the history of the city's efforts and options for sewer line installation, and directed staff to move forward with a line that would serve 165 acres around 110th Street and Riverview Avenue. But at the Nov. 9 meeting, three council members tabled a vote to approve financing for that project due to concerns about unexpected costs and unserved properties.
At 6 p.m. Monday in the council chambers at Edwardsville City Hall, city staff and consulting will present data related to the history of providing sanitary sewers in the city, the availability of state or federal grants, costs associated with sewer line alternatives, and the impact future development could have on the city.
The council's regular meeting is set to begin at 7 p.m.
