Raymond Dean Maskil, 65, of Bonner Springs, died Wednesday, December 12, 2007 at Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, Mo. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2007, at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, Bonner Springs. Burial will follow in the Leavenworth V.A. National Cemetery in Leavenworth. Friends may call at the visitation on Monday, Dec. 17, from 4 to 8 p.m., also at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home. The family has suggested memorial contributions to the American Heart Assoc. or the American Diabetes Assoc.

"Crazy" or "Pazza" Ray Maskil was born July 3, 1942, and except for his duty in the U.S. Army he was a lifelong Kansas City area resident. He graduated from Wyandotte High School in 1960. He owned and operated his own business for 25 years and was semi-retired. He was an avid gardener.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Allen and Juanita, and one brother, Allen. He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Monica, of the home; two daughters Kristie Hultquist of Petaluma, Calif.; and Dawn Taylor of Yukon, Okla.; four grandchildren; one brother, Eddie Coffelt of Smithville, Mo.; a sister, Margaret Wiggins of Spring Hill, Fla.; and his sister-in-law, Martha Kamloska, also of the home.
