J. Gayle (Hardwick) Whipple 1935 - 2007 Basehor

J. Gayle (Hardwick) Whipple, 72, Basehor and previously of Lansing, died on Wednesday, Dec. 26, 2007. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, at the First Baptist Church of Basehor, with burial to follow in the Mount Calvary Cemetery in Lansing. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday evening at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to the First Baptist Church of Basehor or the St. Jude's Children's Hospital both in care of the funeral home.

Mrs. Whipple was born on July 6, 1935, in Independence, Mo. She retired after working 22 years as a teller at the Wyandotte Bank at 78th & State Ave. in Kansas City, Kan.

Mrs. Whipple was preceded in death by her second husband Bill Cozadd, her sister Marie Paul and her brother Herbert Rush. Survivors include her husband Bill Whipple of the home; nine children, Karen Breuer and husband Allen of Basehor, Tammy Hampton and husband Mike of Basehor, Cheryl Matzeder and husband Mark of Leavenworth, Kevin Hardwick and wife Christy of Piper, Kenny Hardwick, Sr., of Lansing, Malissa Haley of Pittsburg, Mo., Chuck Whipple and wife Laura of Bonner Springs, Martin Whipple and wife Sheri of Olathe, and Gladys Zimmerman of Seattle, Wash.; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
