Richard F. France 1927 - 2007 Kansas City, Kan.

Richard "Papa Dick" Frank France, 80, Kansas City, Kan., died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2007, at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kan. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m., Monday, Dec. 31, at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Eudora. Burial will follow in the Holy Family Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the visitation from 9 to 11 a.m. Monday prior to the service. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Cancer Center at the University of Kansas Hospital.

Mr. France was born July 27, 1927, in Buffalo, N.Y., and moved to this area in 1971. He had been a long-time employee of Therm-l-Tec Insulation in Kansas City, Kan. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of WW II and also had been a Merchant Marine.

Mr. France was preceded in death by one son, Daniel France, in 2000. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jeanne Alyce (Maher) France of the home; a son Patrick France of Cowlesville, N.Y.; six daughters, Mary Cole, Theresa Meyers, Judith Ra'se, Doris Hamilton, Eunice Smith and Renee Kindall; a sister, Irene Scranton; 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, as well as a host of other family and friends.
