Walter L. Pollock 1921 - 2008 Bonner Springs
Services for Walter L. Pollock Jr., 86, of Bonner Springs, were Tuesday, Aug. 26, at the Highland Park Funeral Home & Crematory, Kansas City, Kan. Burial was in Highland Park Cemetery.
Mr. Pollock died Friday, Aug. 22, 2008 at his home.
He was born Sept. 23, 1921, in Kansas City, Kan., the son of Walter L. Sr. and Willie L. Pollock.
Mr. Pollock, a lifelong area resident, was a conductor for the Frisco Rail Road for 28 years and later owned and operated C & C Delivery Co., which he contracted with the Community Blood Bank. He was an Army veteran of WW II and was a 50-year member of the Masonic Blue Lodge of Bonner Springs. He was also a member of the Calvary Bible Church of Bonner Springs.
Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Clara C. Pollock, of the home; two sons, George Lee, Edwardsville, and Timothy Paul, of the home; three daughters, Ethel Mae Pembleton, Pryor, Okla., Donna Rae Florence, Basehor, and Mary Ruth Pickett, Edwardsville; a brother, Lawrence, Kansas City, Kan., 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to Good Shepherd Hospice or Calvary Bible Church, sent in care of the funeral home, 3801 State Avenue, Kansas City, KS 66102.
