James A. Cook

James A. Cook, 59, of Basehor, died Sunday, Feb. 3, 2008, at his home. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Highland Park Funeral Home & Crematory 41st & State Ave., Kansas City, Kan.; burial in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Kansas City, Kan. Visitation was Wednesday at the Funeral Home. The family suggest contributions to Basehor-Linwood High School, Bishop Ward High School or the Wentworth Military Academy.

Mr. Cook was born July 9, 1948, in Goodland, Kan., and had lived in the Kansas City area most of his life. He had owned and operated the Jim Cook Photography Studio for more than 30 years, taking graduation and sporting event pictures for Basehor-Linwood High School, Bishop Ward High School and Piper High School. He had made countless professional banners, homecoming signs and athletic programs at no charge. He had also served on the Basehor City Council and the Planning Commission. He supported all Basehor Community events along with the Kansas City, Kan., Junior League.

He is survived by his wife, Susie Cook, of the home; his daughter, Jamie Benner, Parkville, Mo.; a granddaughter, Logan Kate Benner; his stepfather, Henry Kondruk, and a stepbrother, Mark Law, Tonganoxie.
