Memorial services for Ludwig J. Hedstrom, 77, of Kansas City, Kan., will be at 2 p.m. Dec. 13, at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 8170 Parallel, Kansas City, Kan.
Mr. Hedstrom died Saturday, Oct. 25, 2008.
He was born Nov. 29, 1930, in Kansas City, Mo., the son of Ludvig and Irene Hedstrom. He was a lifelong Wyandotte County resident.
Mr. Hedstrom was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the United States Navy. He was the director of plant operations for St. John’s Hospital in Leavenworth and Research Hospital for 24 years. He was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, council member of the Boy Scouts of America Troup 47 Stony Point, and amateur radio operator WAOBJN.
A son, Eric Hedstrom, died earlier.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Elise Hedstrom; a daughter, Gretchen Norland, Galva, Kan.; and three grandchildren.
The family suggests memorials to the Alzheimer’s Association, Heart of America Chapter, Prairie Village, Kan., or to the church, sent in care of Porter Funeral Home & Crematory, 1835 Minnesota Ave., Kansas City, KS 66102.
