Gary A. Freeman Sr. 1947 - 2009

Mission — Services for Gary A. Freeman Sr., 61, of Mission, were Wednesday, April 1, at Alden-Harrington Funeral Home in Bonner Springs. Burial was in Bonner Springs Cemetery.
Mr. Freeman died Thursday, March 26, 2009, at his home.
He was born April 28, 1947, in Bonner Springs, where he grew up. He later lived and graduated from high school in California before moving to Mission. He worked primarily as a union painter in the family business as well as being a superintendent for Freeman Construction. He also had his own business, Skills Unlimited General Contracting.
Most of his friends knew him as “Charlie Chicken” or “Chicken Man.”
Survivors include a daughter, Michelle Melrose, De Soto; a son, Gary Jr., of the home; six brothers, Galen L., Basehor, Earl E., Piper, Neil D. and Ricky D., both of Bonner Springs, and Robert L. and Stewart L., both of Edwardsville; three sisters, Betty Jean Casteel, Oak Grove, Mo., Dalene Mulich, Bonner Springs, and Cheryl S. Drummond, Bucyrus; and five grandchildren.
