Samuel Brooks 1926 - 2009

Kansas City, Kan. — Services for Samuel J. Brooks, 82, of Kansas City, Kan., will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 12, at Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, Bonner Springs, with entombment in Highland Park Mausoleum, Kansas City, Kan.
Mr. Brooks died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2009, at Kansas City Hospice House.
He was born Nov. 25, 1926, in Kansas City, Kan.
Mr. Brooks was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II and had worked for Burlington Railroad and Sinclair Oil. He started his own business, BB Dispatch Truck line. He was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 369 and Abdallah Shrine Temple.
His wife of 56 years, Rosalie (Barnett), died Dec. 1, 2005. A stepdaughter, Linda Brooks, also died earlier.
Survivors include a son, Mike, Baton Rouge, La.; a grandson; and a sister, Ida Herrington, Grove, Okla.
Visitation will be an hour prior to service, also at the funeral home.
