Dorothy L. Smith 1936 - 2009 Bonner Springs

A celebration of life for Dorothy “Dottie” L. Smith, 72, of Bonner Springs, will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 13, at Alden Harrington Funeral Home, Bonner Springs. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Smith died Wednesday, June 3, 2009, at her home.
She was born Aug. 1, 1936, in Edgerton, the daughter of Onen and Lena Stogsdill. She attended kindergarten through grade six in Ottawa, middle school at Morris and graduated from Turner High School in 1954.
Mrs. Smith was employed at St. Margaret’s Hospital from 1954 to 1956; and later worked several years at Kriegel’s Jewelry in the Indian Springs Mall.
She married her high school sweetheart, William P. Smith on Jan. 14, 1956; he survives of the home.
Other survivors include two daughters, Brandon Ziph and husband, Thom, and Heather Tuttle and husband, John, Bonner Springs; a son, William P. Smith II and wife, Marisha, Shawnee; a sister, Donna Luther, Emporia; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
