Robert Eugene Lipp 1931 - 2010 Edwardsville
Edwardsville — Funeral services with military honors for Robert Eugene Lipp, 79, of Edwardsville, will be at 4 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 30, at the Chapel Hill-Butler Funeral Home, with a visitation an hour prior to the service. A private family inurnment in Leavenworth National Cemetery will take place at a later date.
Mr. Lipp died surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, Dec. 23, 2010.
He was born Nov. 16, 1931, in Kansas City, Kan., to Herman and Anna (Schived) Lipp. He served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy. He was a decorated Korean War Veteran and served on board the USS Valley Forge.
Robert was a member of IPF International Union and BAC Local Union No. 15, where he earned his 50-year card. He worked as a bricklayer, and in his spare time he enjoyed the outdoors, fishing and hunting.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents; four brothers, Freddie, Eddie, Otto and Herb; and three sisters, Frances, Marian and Rosemary.
Survivors include his wife, Rosella M. (Riddle) Lipp of the home; mother of his children, Mary Lou Lipp; daughters, Rhoda J. Ridenour (Wayne), Bonner Springs, Janet S. Busch (Jim), Edwardsville, and step daughter, Linda L. Trente (Lee), Liberty, Mo.; one son, Mike J. Lipp (Arlene), Kissie Mills, Mo.; a stepson, Rex Roberson (Vangie), Thailand; and seven grandchildren.
