Murle Ann Millsap Reed 1917 - 2011 Macon, Mo.

Services for Murle Ann Millsap Reed, 93, will be 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 18, at Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, Bonner Springs. Burial will be in Edwardsville Cemetery.
Mrs. Reed died Saturday, Feb. 12, 2011, at Loch Haven Nursing Home in Macon, Mo.
She was born April 27, 1917, in Wyandotte County, the daughter of Claude and Mattie Comerford Millsap. She grew up on a farm near Edwardsville and graduated from Bonner Springs High School in 1935.
She and her husband moved to Bonner Springs in 1947 after purchasing a grocery store in Muncie. In 1958, the family moved to Macon, Mo., owning and operating Reed's Thriftway until selling the store in 1974. After retirement, she and her husband enjoyed traveling throughout the United States and Europe.
Mrs. Reed belonged to First Christian Church of Macon and was a member of many bridge clubs in Macon; she enjoyed playing cards as well as decoupaging and genealogy.
She married C. Buford Reed on June 23, 1940, in Edwardsville. He died earlier.
Survivors include three children: Sandi Kiehne, Independence, Mo., Jim Reed, Liberty, Mo., and John (Karen) Reed, Jefferson City, Mo.; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
