Virginia A. "Gini" Ragan 1941 - 2011 Bonner Springs

Services for Virginia A. “Gini” Shaw Ragan, 69, Bonner Springs, will be at 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, 2011, at Alden-Harrington Funeral Home. Burial will be at Bonner Springs Cemetery.
Mrs. Ragan died Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at her home surrounded by her family.
Gini was born Feb. 7, 1941, in Kansas City, Kan., and was a lifelong area resident.
Mrs. Ragan was a housewife and was devoted to raising her family. She was active in the Bonner Springs Jaycees in the 1960s and ’70s. She was the immediate past regional executive for the Kansas City region of the Sports Car Club of America. She had won many national awards for her volunteer work in that club for all sorts of activities.
She married Ken Ragan on July 23, 1960. He survives of the home.
Other survivors include four children, Chris Ragan, Wichita, Leslie Ensign, Kansas City, Mo.; and Mike Ragan and Kelly Ragan, both of Bonner Springs; a sister, Tootie Ney, Tucson, Ariz.; and seven grandchildren.
The family will receive family and friends at the visitation prior to the service from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 20, at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorials to the Susan G. Komen for the Cure Breast Cancer Foundation, sent in care of the funeral home, 214 Oak St., Bonner Springs, KS 66012.
