Glenndine D. Waggoner 1924 - 2011 Bonner Springs

Celebration of Life services for Glenndine D. Waggoner, 86, Bonner Springs, will be 2 p.m. Sunday, June 26, at Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, Bonner Springs. Private family committal will be at a later date in Bonner Springs Cemetery.
Mrs. Waggoner died Friday, June 24, 2011, at her home.
She was born Nov. 30, 1924, in Larned and had lived in the Bonner Springs area since 1962. She had graduated from nursing school at St. Rose Hospital in Great Bend. She later worked at Watkins Memorial Hospital at Kansas University.
Mrs. Waggoner worked for many years as a registered nurse for the Wyandotte and Johnson County Public Health Departments as well as for the Kansas City, Kan., School District, where she taught newborn infant care in the Teenage Mother’s Program. She was a past board member of the Wyandotte County Cancer Action and had also been an active member and past president of P.E.O. Chapter FG. She was also a member of Bonner Springs United Methodist Women.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Franklin E. “Gene” Waggoner, of the home; three children Elizabeth Ann “Beth” Waggoner and John C. Waggoner, both of Bonner Springs, and Donald S. Waggoner, Sierra Vista, Ariz.; five grandchildren; and two great-granddaughters.
The family will receive friends at the visitation from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday prior to the service and then again after the service. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Vitas Hospice, sent in care of the funeral home, 214 Oak St., Bonner Springs, KS 66012.
