Anna Lucy Acock 1917 - 2012 Independence, Mo.

Anna Lucy Acock, 94, of Independence, MO formerly of Bonner Springs, KS died Friday, Mar. 9, 2012 died at her sister’s home. Funeral services will be 10 am, Wed., Mar. 14 at the Community of Christ Church at 130 Metropolitan Ave. in Bonner Springs with burial to follow in the Bonner Springs Cemetery. Visitation 6 to 8 pm, Tue., Mar. 13 at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home (913)422-4074 in Bonner Springs, KS.
Anna was born on Aug. 29, 1917 in Neravisa, NM and grew up and graduated from High School in Independence, MO. She later met and married her late husband James “Bud” Acock and moved to the Bonner Springs area in 1936. She loved being a homemaker and raising her family. Later she worked at the Bonner Springs Floral and was a wonderful seamstress and was very good at making her crafts a work of art. She was a longtime member of Bonner Springs Community of Christ and her loving and caring spirit continues to guide her family. She was preceded in death by her husband James “Bud” Acock in 2004 and her brothers Frank W. Barwise, Kenneth T. Barwise and Burton A. Barwise and sisters Lois P. Swanson and F. Ruth Harris. Her survivors include her only remaining sister Caroline B. McBride of the home. 4 Children James A. Acock of Camp Verde, AZ; Larry B. Acock of Phoenix, AZ; Nancy L. Brazee of Bonner Springs, KS and Cheryl A. Acock of Lawrence, KS. 15 Grandchildren and 14 Great Grandchildren.
