Gerald “Jerry” R. Bradbury 1936 - 2012 Edwardsville

Gerald R. “Jerry” Bradbury, age 75 of Edwardsville, Kansas passed away on Thursday, April 26, 2012. Funeral services were held 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 30, at the Elm Grove Baptist Church. Burial followed in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Kansas City, Kansas. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service also at the church. Memorial contributions can be made to the Elm Grove Baptist Church Building Fund, 15774 Linwood Rd., Bonner Springs, KS 66012.
Jerry was born on Sept. 29, 1936 in Kansas City, KS., the son of William F. Bradbury and Emma “Marguerite” (Webb) Bradbury. He graduated from Wyandotte High School in Kansas City, KS., in 1954 and then joined the Army in the fall of 1954, as a paratrooper with the 82nd Airborne Division. He was stationed at Ft. Bragg, N.C., from 1954 to 1957. On Jan. 14, 1955, he married his high school sweetheart Viola Mae Bond. During his lifetime he worked various occupations as a Salesman, Master Locksmith, Welder and was presently employed with Assisted Transportation. Jerry considered himself a “Jack of all Trades.” His favorite pastimes included cooking, singing, reading, traveling and his faith. After a marriage of 57 years he is survived by his wife Viola Bradbury of the home, daughter Debra Adams, son Gerald “Bob” Bradbury, Jr., and daughter Cheryl Tipton, nine grandchildren Michelle, Jennifer, Jessica, Jeremy, Aaron, Holly, Mandi, TJ & Josh, six great-grandchildren Colton, Makenzie, John, Jakob, Jaxon & Mason. He also leaves behind his beloved furry friend Ted. E. Bear.
