Elmer Eugene Hardwick 1928 - 2012

Elmer Eugene Hardwick, 84, passed away October 19, 2012, at Grace Gardens in Leawood, KS. He was born in Carrollton, MO, on May 18, 1928, to Martin and Ida Hardwick. Elmer graduated from Central High School in Kansas City, and earned a degree from UCLA. Elmer had three children with his former wife, Dorothy Hert Hansen. Elmer worked most of his career for William Volker & Co. in Kansas City and Burlingame, CA, where he was Vice President and General Credit Manager. He later joined Apple Computer in 1983 and became their first National Credit Manager. He loved this new chapter in his life and enjoyed the people that he worked with. Elmer loved traveling, golf, and tennis, with his second car being a golf cart. He also enjoyed fine wines, his art collection, and had an amazing sense of style. Elmer is survived by his long time fiancée, Jean Siegfried; his two sons, Stephen (Barbara) of St. Joseph, MO, and Gary of Shawnee, KS, and his daughter, Jayne Lawson (Ted ) of Los Altos, CA, nine grandchildren, and three great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Beverly Perry (Tommy) of Wapanucka, OK. Visitation will be Saturday, November 3, 2012, from 2 to 4 pm at Alden-Harrington Funeral Home, 214 Oak St. in Bonner Springs, KS. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Society.
