Twila A. Heinen

Twila A. Heinen, age 64 of Basehor, Kansas, went home to be with the Lord in Saturday, May 31, 2014. Funeral Mass Service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday June 6, 2014 at the Holy Angels Catholic Church with the burial to follow in the Holy Angels Catholic Cemetery. The family will receive friends Thursday evening, starting with a Rosary Service at 5:30 p.m. and the visitation from 6 to 8 p.m. both at the Holy Angels Catholic Church. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions to the Muscular Dystrophy Association or the Holy Angels Catholic Church, both in care of the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home.
Twila was born on July 3, 1949 in Axtell, Kansas the first of four children born to Fred and Anna (Schiltjans) Hasenkamp. Twila was raised in Wetmore, Kansas and graduating from Wetmore High School in 1967. She came to Kansas City and attended Radiology Technical Training at Providence-St. Margaret’s Hospital and worked in the X-Ray field in the Kansas City area for 35 years. Twila was a longtime member of the Holy Angels Catholic Church where she was a religious leader. She was also active in her community, having served on the Basehor School Board and the Basehor Planning Commission. She was also active with the Basehor Red Hatter’s. Twila enjoyed taking trips, going to her grandchildren’s activities, camping and most of all, spending time with her family.
Twila was preceded in death by her father Fred Hasenkamp. Survivors include her husband of 44 years, Mark L. Heinen of the home. Two children, Debra Lowe and husband Tim, Brian Heinen and wife Melissa all of Basehor, KS., Her Mother Anna M. Hasenkamp of Topeka, KS., three siblings; Elaine Hasenkamp of California, Susan Worrell and Loren Hasenkamp both of Topeka, KS., five grandchildren; Faith and Jacob Lowe, Summer, Ashley and Autumn Heinen.
