Mitch Eickhoff 1967 - 2015
Mitch “Uncle Mitch” Eickhoff, age 48, of Bonner Springs, Kansas passed away on Thursday, August 6th, 2015. Visitation 5 -7pm, followed by the Funeral Service at 7pm both Thursday Aug. 13th at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home. Memorial Contributions can be made to the Bonner Springs Boy Scouts Troop #149 in care of the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home.
Mitch was born the fifth of six children, as one of a set of twins born to, Art and LaVerta Eickhoff on Feb. 1st, 1967 in Kansas City, Kansas. He grew up in Edwardsville on his family’s farm and stayed very active in the Boy Scouts, even into his adult years. He was a 1985 graduate from Bonner Springs High School and worked for the next 30 years at his family’s hardware store, L.A. Hardware in the Armourdale District of Kansas City, Kansas. Mitch enjoyed living on his farm in rural Bonner Springs and especially enjoyed the tradition of Sunday Breakfast with his entire family at his parents’ home. Other pastimes he enjoyed were; tending to his garden, hunting and fishing and just being outside.
Survivors include his longtime companion Kim Richmond of the home; her children Zakk (Myrye) Loffredo and Austin Ashlock, her grandchildren Carina and Landon Loffredo, his daughter Allyson Eickhoff of Oklahoma, his parents, Art Sr. and LaVerta Eickhoff of Edwardsville, KS., siblings; David Eickhoff and wife Lynn of Independence, MO., Doug Eickhoff and wife Tammy of Parkville, MO., James Eickhoff and wife Stephanie, his twin Shelly Eickhoff, and John Eickhoff all of Edwardsville, KS. 13 nieces and nephews, ten great nieces and nephews, several aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and friends.
