Ronald Gene Brown 1940 - 2015
Ronald Gene Brown “Bigfoot Brown”, 75, of Bonner Springs, KS passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2015 at Providence Medical Center in Kansas City, KS. Funeral services will be 11 am, Sat., Aug. 22, at the Bonner Springs Church of Christ at 419 E. Morse, with burial to follow in the Glenwood Cemetery near Basehor, KS. Friends may call at the visitation from 10 to 11 am, Sat. morning, Aug. 22, at the church. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Bonner Springs Church of Christ building fund. Ronnie was born on April 20, 1940 to Kenneth L. and Violet A. Brown on a farm outside of Fontana, KS. He worked as a Switchman for the Santa Fe Railroad where he worked for 42 years. He and his brother Jim both enjoyed coaching the Carpet Corner Girls Softball Team for many years. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers Virgil and Frank Brown. He is survived by his wife of 53 years Frances of the home, their daughter Pamela Bradt (Jason) and grandchildren Adam and Zoe Bradt all of Ill. The grandchildrens nickname for him was Grandpa Choo Choo. Two brothers Jim Brown (Teresa) of Kansas City, KS and Charlie Brown (Nancy) of Basehor, KS. One Sister Rose Bennink (Jim) of Lowry City, MO. And one sister-in-law Ellen Brown of Overland Park, KS.
