James R. Sawyer 1939 - 2015
James “Jim” R. Sawyer, age 76 of Gravois Mills, MO. And previously of Bonner Springs, KS., passed away Sunday June 28, 2015 at his home. Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 2, 2015 at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Bonner Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be 9 to 11 prior to the service also at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions to cancer research at Mayo Clinic in care of the funeral home.
Jim was born on April 14, 1939 in Colorado. He was a 1957 graduate of Scott Community High School. Jim was the Owner/Operator of J.R. Carstar Collision Repair in Raytown, MO. In his retirement he enjoyed living at the Lake of the Ozarks during the Summer and Goodyear, AZ. In the Winter. Jim was a member of the Osage Community Elks Lodge #2705 and his favorite pastimes were woodworking and fishing. He was preceded in death by his first wife Shirley (Pickett) Sawyer, sister Twila Lawrence, and his second wife Mary (Bare) Sawyer. Survivors include his three children; Curtis Sawyer and wife Cheryl of Edwardsville, KS., Marcia Fagan and husband Matt of Goodyear, AZ., Tony Sawyer and wife Shelley of Lee’s Summit, MO., Sister Emma Jean Binns and husband Clifford of Scott City, KS. his very special friend Ethel Stout of Sun City, AZ., Step Daughters; Connie Jaeger and husband Roger of Ashland, MO. Vicki Dunham and husband Tim of Otterville, MO., seven grandchildren; Eric, Brianna, Tyler, Cole, Andrew, Crystal and Jessica; three great-grandchildren Abbi, Kaylynn and Cayson; three step grandchildren and three step great-grandchildren.
