Charlene L. Kirby 1932 - 2015

Charlene L. Kerby, age 83 of Bonner Springs, Kansas passed away on Wednesday July 1, 2015 while visiting Country Place Senior Living in Basehor, KS. Funeral Services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 7th at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Bonner Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Monday July 6th also at the funeral home. Memorial Contributions can be made to; Feed his Lambs and Vaughn-Trent Community Services both in care of the funeral home.

Charlene was born on January 13, 1932 in Bonner Springs, Kansas and was proud to say she still lived in the home that she was born and raised in. She loved to collect dolls and go to the Beauty Shop every week to have her hair done. She had a love for animals and always enjoyed the many family gatherings. She celebrated a huge Christmas Eve gathering for her whole family each year. She loved her daily trips to cruise Bonner, to see what was going on, and to stop at the Dairy Queen for her 4 o’clock treat. She was a longtime member of the Bonner Springs Christian Church. Charlene retired from Colgate- Palmolive in Kansas City, Kansas in 1984 after working there for over 30 years. She also enjoyed the All-School reunions in Bonner Springs, which she had attended for many years. Charlene was preceded in death by six brothers and sisters; Josephine Freeman, Dorothy Tyler, Lyman Kerby, Betty Elefante, Leslie Hinds and DeWayne Kerby. She is survived by two brothers Marlin Kerby of Bonner Springs and Loren Kerby (Helen) of Platte City, MO., one sister Shirley Mason of Bonner Springs and a host of nieces, nephews other family and friends.
