Frances Theno 1924 - 2015
Frances Theno, lifelong resident of Bonner Springs, Kansas passed away on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at her home. Funeral Services were at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 12 at the Alden-Harrington Funeral Home with burial following in the Theno Family Cemetery. The family received friends at a visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. prior to the service also at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to the Walnut Grove Bible Church or the Bonner Springs Animal Rescue; both in care of the funeral home.
Frances was born at home in Rural Bonner Springs on October 30, 1924 to John and Hattie (Radcliff) DeMaranville. She attended Loring and Dafer Grade Schools and Bonner Springs High School. She was a longtime member of the Walnut Grove Bible Church. Frances married Matt (Bud) Theno on May 29, 1946 in Kansas City, Kansas. Together with their four sons they operated a grain and dairy farm operation until Bud’s death in March 2011. Fran opened a fabric and quilt shop on the farm in 1988, which she continued to manage until her health declined.
She was preceded by her husband, a newborn son, Michael, and granddaughter Kristin and her baby Evie. Also preceding her in death were two brothers Clarence and John DeMaranville and two sisters Grace Houdashelt and Thelma Coon.
Survivors include four sons: Mathias of Linwood, KS., Martin (Helen), Thomas (Debbie), and Jeffery all of Bonner Springs. Also surviving are eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren, one sister Myrtle Gallup, many nieces and nephews, and her many cats that she loved.
