Judy was born on February 3, 1942 in Kansas City, Missouri. She had attended DeSoto High School and graduated from Cyprus High School in Magna, UT in 1960. She married Steve Connell in 1961 and together they moved to Bonner Springs, KS. In 1972 she married Luther Pickell and became active in the community with the American Red Cross and with the Ambulance and Fire Service. Later she became involved in the Edwardsville PTA serving as President. From 1988 to 2001 she served on the Bonner Springs-Edwardsville School Board and for a time was the District President. She was named Chamber Of Commerce Person of the Year in the 90's for her dedication to the Community and Schools. She worked as a School Bus Driver from 1975 to 1981 and returned to drive again for the district from 2007 until recently retiring. Judy had also worked as a cashier at local grocery stores. Judy worked at the Wyandotte County Treasures Office at the Annex and helped many people with protests and taxes through the years until retiring in 2006. Judy was a animal lover and never saw an animal in need that she didn't help. She loved her three dogs and cat. All of these things she loved but most of all she loved her family and friends. Judy was not only dedicated to Pam and Steve and her entire extended family but to everyone's children and families. Her goal in life was "to raise responsible productive adults", and she did. She will be deeply missed.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents Richard and Edna Reinwald, Sr. and her husband Jim Head. Survivors include her two children Steve Connell and his sons Jacob and Thomas and Pamela Waldeck and her husband Jeremiah. Two stepdaughters Natassia Davis and Tabatha Hurley and their children Zoey, Hunter and Hayden. One brother and “best friend” Dick Reinwald, who she spoke with daily and three nieces Cathi, Corie and Traci as well as a host of friends. Please sign this guestbook at
