Larry Francis Meyer 1948 - 2015

Larry Francis Meyer, 66 beloved husband, father, grandfather and brother passed away peacefully on March 7, 2015 at Liberty Hospital. He was born in Leavenworth, KS on April 16, 1948. Larry served in the US Navy from 1967 to 1973 and was honorably discharged as an ET1. He was an Eagle Scout and a former Big Brother. He was also an accomplished furniture maker, loved watching KU basketball, solving Sudoku puzzles, and an avid history buff. Larry retired from the FAA as an electronic technician; following retirement he worked at various companies until his death.

In 1976 Larry married Mary Anderson in Boone, IA. He is survived by his beloved wife Mary, his loving children; Wesley and wife Kristen; daughter Taryn Bagby, husband Tom, and grandson, Parker, who was the joy of his life. He is also survived by his sister Andrea Staudenmaier (Bill), brother Gene Meyer (Jan), brother-in-law Greg Anderson (Pam), sister-in-law Rochelle Williams (Brian), three nephews, seven nieces, eight great nieces, and seven great nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his mother Muriel (Meyer) Jared, father Howard Meyer, stepfather Orvel Jared, father-in-law Raymond Anderson, nephew Mathew Meyer, and two infant brothers.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm Saturday March 14, 2015 at St. James Lutheran Church, 1104 NE Vivion Road, Kansas City MO. The family will receive friends from 1:00-3:00 pm at the church. Memorials are suggested to St. James Lutheran Memorial Fund or Habitat for Humanity.
