What is needed to maintain and/or improve the viability of Shawnee's downtown area?

Angela Jeppesen ( in Shawnee) says...
“Increasing the Downtown Neighborhood Improvement District is a step in the right direction, allowing home and business owners to keep more of their own money and invest it into their properties.”
Ray Erlichman ( in Shawnee) says...
“Signage on Shawnee Mission Parkway upon entering the city limits, and approaching the area from the other direction. Encouraging folks who would normally just travel through to stop and detour to the downtown area might be beneficial.”
Gloria Bessenbacher ( in ) says...
“I think more restaurants, street cafés, specialty stores like World Market or Wild Oats, boutiques selling nice and unique products — all these housed in attractive buildings.”

“Remember the basics for appropriate, collaborative planning and implementation. Obtain input from all segments of the Shawnee community. Evaluate at the end of each phase.”
