Garron Wayne, center, races to a second-place finish in the 100-meter preliminaries on Thursday, April 9, at the Bobcat Relays at Basehor-Linwood High School. Wayne, a Bonner Springs senior, finished second in the heat behind Tonganoxie’s D.J. Lindsay, left, and advanced to the finals. The fact that the race took place shows the meet started on time, but the Bobcat Relays remained true to their historic relation with rainy weather. The meet was halted midway through when a thunderstorm began. The meet will resume April 28.
