- Johnson County sheriff’s deputies this morning locked down De Soto High School and Lexington Trails Middle School as a precautionary measure while they looked for an 18-year-old De Soto man after he reportedly threatened suicide, cut himself and left his home with a knife.
- Speedway to host blood, marrow drive

- Kansas Speedway will play host to its second annual blood and bone marrow drive - the Spirit of the Heartland 200 - from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 9, in the speedway infield in conjunction with the Community Blood Center and the National Marrow Donor Program.
