Heard in Bonner: Pizza Hut in the news

• More business news — We’ve discussed Pizza Hut’s plan to move from Front Street to Kansas Highway 7 and Kansas Avenue in the past, but now there’s a set date: On Jan. 11, Pizza Hut will move to 13028 Kansas Ave. and will have delivery and pick-up only. On Jan. 10, both locations will be closed due to the move.

• More new businesses — I wrote about a new downtown business coming to 300 and 304 Oak Street the other day, which will include a home décor shop as well as a coffee shop. It looks like that business, called WAJ Inc., is aiming to open Feb. 1. But there also are two others opening soon. Jasmine Harrington plans to open a new hair salon, Salon 619, at 619B Front Street (in the Bonner Shops behind Daylight Donuts) before the end of January. Also, Kelly Svitak, chiropractor, plans to open Pure Movement Integrated Health Center on Jan. 16 in Northridge Center, 13100 Kansas Ave., Ste. H, offering chiropractic services, sports rehabilitation and acupuncture. We’ll have new business profiles soon after each opens.

• The state has approved Midwest Public Risk of Kansas for insurance coverage. Bonner and Edwardsville, along with many other cities, planned to join the group for savings on property, liability and auto insurance. Coverage through the MPR took affect Dec. 31. The cities agreed to join the group a year ago, but the state didn’t grant approval last year.
