Week 4 (9.26.2014) Predictions

Last week: 6-0

Season: 11-6

Where Mike will be this week: Maranatha vs. Jayhawk Linn

Be sure to follow me on Twitter for updates.

Mill Valley (0-3) at Southwest (Mo). (2-3), Word on the street is Logan Koch is injured, something that hampered him last season. Getting Koch healthy for districts and the playoffs is most important for MVHS right now. He's a special player that really influences the game. The Jaguars have played a very difficult schedule so far and they should pick up their first win tonight.

Mill Valley 63, Southwest 17

SM Northwest (1-2) at Lawrence (1-2) This will be a big momentum boost for the winner. LHS is coming off a 31-12 loss to rival Free State last week. The Cougars have faced the 5A champs and 6A runner-up already this year. Talk about a tough schedule.

SM Northwest 28, Lawrence 27

SM North (0-3) at Olathe East (2-1) It's almost over Indians fans. Just three more weeks of rock bottom until two-straight wins and a playoff berth. That's what I'm predicting anyway.

Olathe East 48, SM North 13

St. James (3-0) vs. Jefferson City - Helias (Mo.) (5-0) Instead of being played at St. Thomas Aquinas, this one is at Bishop Miege. Coach Tom Radke was not happy with how his team ran its mouth last week at De Soto. That won't happen again tonight. The Thunder are entering a tough three-game stretch before it enters district play. In five games, Helias hasn't given up more than 14 points in a game.

Jefferson City - Helias 28, St. James 24

Bonner Springs (2-1) at Lansing (1-2) The Braves earned a huge win over rival Basehor-Linwood last week. They should keep it going against a Lansing team that BLHS defeated in Week 2. Quarterback Connor Byers has been rolling along since he didn't throw a touchdown in Week 1 against Eudora. This should be a fun one in a battle of lefty quarterbacks. LHS's Krystian Abbott is fun to watch.

Bonner Springs 42, Lansing 28

Maranatha (0-3) vs. Jayhawk Linn (0-3) Somebody will be going home with its first win tonight. JLHS has only scored 23 points on the season, but MCA has given up nearly 40 points a game. I think Maranatha's offense will come through tonight.

Maranatha 31, Jayhawk-Linn 10
